EERA

Message from the Program Chair

Teaching Picture
This February, even though our attendance was not the highest compared to past years, I was impressed with the quality of papers and presentations. I saw new faces and even recognized familiar ones who have been away for a time. Even with the cuts in the travel budget, it is good to know that we have dedicated faculty and graduate students who make the commitment to support this organization.

As your President-elect and Program Chair, it is my duty to let you know of my incoming goals for the next two years. I will make a concerted effort to make the scheduling of papers/presentations efficient with improved channels of communication between the reviewers and the response of acceptance or modification notices, as well as presentation times and dates. I also will be working with our VP of Conference Planning, Dr. Sharon Valente, to improve our attendance and/or membership by making visitations to several targeted colleges and universities on my own personal expense to get the word out on why this organization is worth the investment of pursuing these actions.

Lastly, I would like to get your feedback on the past conference as well as what would make you return for the upcoming 2010 annual meeting in Savannah, Georgia. Let me know your thoughts on what I can do to provide the service you need to continue your support for EERA. I look forward towards hearing from the membership as well as future members.
